Diversity & Inclusion

Rebound’s statement on diversity and inclusion

At Rebound, we are committed to creating an inclusive and diverse environment where every young person feels valued, respected, and supported. We celebrate the uniqueness of each individual, embracing diversity in all its forms, including but not limited to race, ethnicity, culture, religion, gender identity, sexual orientation, ability, and socio-economic status.

We believe diversity enriches our programs, services, and community, fostering understanding, empathy, and growth. Through our commitment to diversity and inclusion, we strive to empower all young people to reach their full potential and become confident, compassionate leaders of tomorrow.

A message from the Executive Director

As the Executive Director of Rebound, I am committed to fostering a culture of diversity and inclusion within our organization and the communities we serve.

Diversity is more than just a buzzword to us; it’s a fundamental value that shapes everything we do. We believe that every young person deserves to feel valued, respected, and supported. We are dedicated to creating a safe and inclusive space where everyone feels welcomed and empowered to be their authentic selves.

Inclusion is not only about ensuring that all voices are heard; it’s about actively listening, learning, and amplifying the voices of those who have been marginalized. We recognize that diversity strengthens our organization and the communities we serve, driving innovation, creativity, and growth.

At Rebound, we are committed to dismantling barriers and creating opportunities for all young people to thrive. Together, let’s celebrate our differences, learn from one another, and create a more inclusive and equitable future for all.

Thank you for joining us on this journey.

  3. Diverse Representation:  We aim to reflect the community we serve within our staff and volunteer recruitment.

  4. Create Safe Spaces: We ensure that all young people feel safe, welcomed, and supported in our programs and services.

  5. Promote Equity: We aim to identify and address any systemic barriers that may prevent marginalized youth from accessing our services or participating fully.

  6. Community Engagement: We aim to engage with diverse communities to better understand their needs and ensure that our programs and services are inclusive and relevant (and if you would like to join our Caregiver or Youth Advisory Committees – please reach out!)

  7. Collaborate with Diverse Organizations: We partner with other non-profits, community groups, and organizations to share resources and best practices.

  8. Listen and Learn: We actively listen to the experiences and feedback of youth and their communities and use this information to inform our programs and services.

  9. Celebrate diversity: We organize and participate in events, workshops, and initiatives that celebrate diversity and promote cross-cultural understanding and appreciation.
